What DUI is all about?
A DUI is specifically the act of driving a motor vehicle while the person is intoxicated or is under with the influence alcoholic drinks or drugs. This type of case is a common scenario among the streets. DUI is also known as driving while intoxicated (DWI), drunk driving, or impaired driving.
In general term, it is illegal to drive a vehicle while you are "impaired" by alcohol or drugs as your mind cannot work properly under some circumstances. Intoxication just often lead to accidents. And accidents leads to injuries or worst, unwanted deaths.
How DUI is measured?
Police officers will usually pulled you over if they noticed any signs of erratic driving on your part. Erratic driving could be positive signs that you are intoxicated. You can also undergo a field sobriety tests. It may include walking in a straight line, standing on one leg, or a speech test. Your Blood Alcohol Content or BAC is also used by authorities as the measurement in identifying if you have really committed a DUI violation or not. If found out that your BAC has exceeds the specific limit, then you will be subject for a DUI arrest and will have to face the consequences of your action.
